Late night commuters, workers as well as Christmas shoppers will be able to ride the LRT-2 rail line during the late hours from December 9 to December 30 in time for the holiday rush.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to extend rail line operations to service more passengers this Christmas Season.
Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the LRT-2 management has guaranteed that the one-hour operations extension will not affect the rail lineโs maintenance and safety routines.
โAng sabi sa atin ng Pangulong Marcos, Jr. dapat mas maraming pasahero ang maserbisyuhan natin ngayong magpa-Pasko. Tinitiyak naman natin sa mga pasahero na kahit extended ang service ng LRT-2, masusi parin ang ating maintenance at safety routines sa mga tren at mga riles,โ Secretary Lopez said.
Beginning December 9, the LRT-2 will implement the following extended services:
Last train from LRT-2 Antipolo Station – 10PM
Last train from LRT-2 Recto Station โ 10:30PM
This will also be the schedule for December 25, Christmas Day.
However, on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, the LRT-2 will implement the following shortened service schedule:
