The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) strengthened its institutional disaster resilience capabilities through the conduct of the Public Service Continuity Planning (PSCP) Training Course held on 06–10 October 2025 at the LRTA Line 2 Depot, Santolan, Pasig City.
The PSCP is a key Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) tool adopted across government agencies to ensure the continuous delivery of essential public services during emergencies, crises, and other operational disruptions.
The five-day training enabled LRTA managers and technical officers in the formulation of a Public Service Continuity Plan designed to maintain critical operations, establish clear leadership and decision-making protocols, and ensure effective communication and coordination in times of crisis.
Resource speakers and facilitators were provided by the Pasig Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Manila DRRMO, Office of Civil Defense – National Capital Region, and the Philippine Coast Guard, who shared institutional best practices and technical guidance on continuity planning and emergency response frameworks.
LRTA Administrator Cabrera expressed his gratitude to the speakers and participants for their commitment to the agency’s mandate and to the public it serves.
This initiative is part of LRTA’s ongoing commitment to institutional preparedness and resilience to maintain the uninterrupted delivery of safe and reliable mass transportation services to the public, even in the face of disasters and unforeseen disruptions.
