Volunteers from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), MMDA, and Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) are loading trucks at Light Rail Transit Authority-LRT Line 2 with “Charitimba” relief packs, preparing for the immediate dispatch of a large-scale Aid Caravan heading to typhoon-hit areas in Masbate and earthquake-affected communities in Cebu.
Each “Charitimba” contains food packs, medicines, and an evacuation supply kit with mosquito net, blanket, flashlight, and other necessities.
The Aid Caravan is departing today at 9AM from the LRT-2 Santolan Station. For the relief mission in Cebu, the caravan has deployed 3 PCSO buses, 11 Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) units, and 5 MMDA dump trucks. The Masbate Mission will utilize 6 PCSO wing vans and 1 PTV unit to serve Burias and Ticao Islands.
